If done right, exercise can help reduce stress, and increase energy. The benefits of staying active into one’s senior years are endless. By keeping a regular exercise schedule, your loved ones will experience weight loss, reduced stress, better mood, better sleep, be at a lower risk for heart disease, and have a lower risk for developing osteoporosis. One can experience these benefits simply by exercising for 10 minutes a day.

At Retire-At-Home, our caregivers know the benefits of good exercise, and will actively encourage their clients to participate in daily activity.

Some ways our caregivers like to exercise are by:

  • Taking a daily walk with a friend
  • Trying simple exercise videos (e.g., stretching, muscle toning)
  • Going to community exercise classes (e.g., yoga, tai chi, water aerobics)
  • Enroll in dancing lessons (e.g., ballroom, square dancing, folk dancing)

All of these methods will improve your stamina, muscle tone, and balance, and will lead to a healthier lifestyle.
